Introduction: Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-I), the main growth factor associated with GH secretion, directly opposes endothelial dysfunction and limit early atherosclerosis by favoring nitric oxide production, promoting insulin sensitivity and preventing postprandial dyslipidemia.
